In 2016 Kate Butler joined the IP Development arm of KOJO as Production and Development Executive, managing KOJO’s film and television post production equity portfolio and the company’s slate of film and television projects, as well as developing projects for KOJO’s partnership with Greg Silverman’s Hollywood based Stampede Ventures, The Alliance. 

Kate co-produced the highly celebrated 4 x 1/2hr children’s television series First Day for ABCMe which was recently awarded the 2021 International Kids Emmy for Best Live Action Series. This award is the  latest in a series of accolades for the trailblazing series, including  the 2020 Rose d’Or Award, GLAAD Media Award, the Kidscreen Award, and the Australian Teachers of Media Award. Kate most recently produced the second season of First Day for Hulu and is currently in pre-production on KOJO Original dark comedy A Beginner’s Guide to Grief for SBS.

Prior to her role as Production and Development Executive / Producer at KOJO, Kate spent 10 years’ managing KOJO’s post production business and has an extensive history in post-production supervision in both television and film. Kate’s post supervision credits include Anzac Girls for Screentime, The Babadook for Causeway Films, Glass: A Portrait of Philip in Twelve Parts for Kino Films and Hotel Mumbai for Arclight and Cyan Films. Kate also sits on KOJO’s Executive Management team.
